However you can get materials to us so they can be easily converted into usable, high quality fuel for the site.
Best Method - FTP
I have high-speed FTP (file transfer
protocol) servers for which I will set up a private or public space
for you to use. You can then use any FTP client (including
those built into most browsers) to move large files back and forth.
If you're not familiar with FTP, you should become so. It will
be a very useful tool for your arsenal. It's very easy and
simple, and will save you hours dealing with disks, driving and so
on.
CDROM / DVD burning
Another option method is to send them to me on CD-ROM.
A CD-ROM formatted for multi-platform long filenames is the best
option (this is pretty much standard now.)
Emailing Website Development Materials
Email is ok for items less than a few dozen megabytes.
If the materials support a task, they should be sent to the task
support center at this address:
.
Paper and Other Media
If you have paper materials or film items such as slides, etc. be aware that charges will be incurred to convert that material to the format I need. If you have digital photographs, I want them in their full-size if possible, not reduced.
You will save a lot of money by having everything converted to
digital format before bringing it to my firm. All material
production work is billed at my normal hourly rate.
The reduction process should be done here not before sending it. Logos and such should be provided digitally or in camera ready format. If you are giving me material from others, you should be sure that there are no copyrights that prevent you from using them.
Website content via USB Drive
Some clients will send a USB flash drive to
me with files if burning a CDROM is inconvenient. That is
fine, and I'm happy to send it right back. |
