How much would you pay to be TOTALLY rid of SPAM?

What would you pay to be totally unburdened from spam? I mean totally.

$10/day?

$10/week?

$10/month?

Would you be willing to tighten laws on email commerce? Do you think that Trusted Sender programs are going to help?

I wonder if the blur between “hidden” SPAM filters, such as those offered by ISPs causes people to hold off on genuinely good spam filtering (yes, that you buy) because they think they “already have a filter” and are just resigning themselves to cleaning the crap out of their in-box each day?

I honestly don’t get it. This issue is having a huge, direct impact on our economy and yet nobody is taking serious action on it. If it weren’t for spamstopshere, I would be put out of business by SPAM.

estarling-new.jpgPostscript: Please review the “issues” list at the bottom. Added Tips are AFTER the jump

My new eStarling Frame arrived from amazon.com. I had low expectations after trying the last version, and hearing about the first. For those of you saying “this is old news” keep in mind that this is a new, bigger 8″ 800×600 eStarling, not the low-res little one that Gizmodo reviewed back in May.

The imagination runs wild with what you could get away with in this grassy area. Anyone complaining about the weirdness you’ve thought up? Just point at the sign.  But what’s with the “allowed here now” bit…. hasn’t it been allowed since 1789?

In the spirit of the Google Adwords Individual and Yahoo Search Ambassador, Microsoft has started handing out invitations to join the AdExcellence accreditation program.

“Upon passing the exam, you’ll become a Microsoft adExcellence Member. As a Member, you’ll receive permission to exhibit the official adExcellence logo on your website and be included in our adExcellence Membership Directory. “

“Designed especially for our advertisers, the Microsoft adExcellence program is our official accreditation program that gives advertisers the opportunity to become a Microsoft adCenter expert. The program offers both free training materials and a fee-based examination, thus providing our adCenter advertisers the ability to gain valuable adCenter knowledge and demonstrate their expertise. Over time, this program will evolve to include additional training materials and benefits for our accredited Microsoft adExcellence Members.”

I’ll be going through the exam shortly. Should be fun!

The Secret Shell Tire Air Button

I try to keep my air pressure perfect in my car. Tires are expensive and gas is, too.

Shell Gas Stations offer free air to paying customers… “Free to Our Customers” it says. So I assumed they must hit some kind of magic button to dispense with the $0.50 vagrants have to pay.

But alas, no special process. You just have to know where to look for the secret button. I’m guessing they got tired of turning it on for people.

I’ve found this now on at least three machines. Is it on yours?
