Another All Day Outage from Windstream

And so, for the third time in 8 weeks, I’m faced with an all-day outage of my business-class ADSL connection from Windstream Communication. No ETA. No explanation. I have to park myself at a coffee shop to do work. It seems that none of Windstream’s critical systems are redundant. Every failure is blamed on a “switch.” Aren’t these among the most reliable of network components?

   That place is a mad house when it comes to DSL. I worked for them for too long and know first hand that everything there is bull!!

   Here it goes again. Windstream is reporting a nation-wide outage with no explanation and no ETA on 9/12/2008. I know this is an old post and maybe not monitored, but I figured I’d add to it.

   Yes, I was out all day - with deadlines. The performance/latency had been getting worse and worse, and I figured things were failing.

   I wish they would set up a MOBILE site with network status so we could grab it on the blackberry/iphone and see what the hell is going on.
