Google Gadget Maker: Someone forgot to feed the gadgets.

I’m thinking I missed the point of Google Gadget Maker.Â

Last night I had my hopes up, but tried it this morning and was really underwhelmed. Does it suprise anyone else, for example, that the the photo frame gadget requires you to change the photo manually rather than, say, plug it into tags on picasaweb or flickr… or that you can’t make your list gadget display headlines from a feed or a google calendar shared events list….  I guess I’ve been spoiled by Yahoo Pipes and the Gadget API at Google

I get the feeling that the Gadget maker is for people with lots of time on their hands (aka MySpace Crowd) to update things all day long by hand. I guess then it’s pretty cool.

I’m far, far to addicted to dynamic content to start creating manually updated stuff again.Â

I’m going to wait and see on this one.
