GM Goes Sticky, Authentic with Gutsy Saturn Move.

Shoppers will be able to compare the Camry and Accord to the Saturn Aura and, shortly, to the new Chevrolet Malibu as well. You’ll even be able to test drive all of the cars right there at the GM dealership. Automakers have long had difficulty standing out in this crowded segment - recently dominated by top Japanese nameplates (including the best selling Camry, built just a few miles from my location.)

But now, you’ll be able to look over all of the cars without the very dangerous proposition of having one of these customers pop in to a Toyota or Honda dealership to check them out. Perhaps they’ve taken a page from web marketing and landing page design (never, ever let your visitor slip over to another page or site.)

It’s a gutsy move, and I think, the shape of things to come. It sure is better than Free Hot Dogs or Clowns.
