Wikis for Internet Marketing: Ideas

I’ve been experimenting on a new side project (like I have time) that will use the WikiMedia software to allow visitors to Kentucky State Parks build their own park descriptions as they visit the parks. This will let those who know the parks up and down provide details and updates that we could never expect from Frankfort (Ky capital.) There always seems to be someone who is a guru about a specific park, so we’ll see how it goes. I’ll try to get some buzz going about it once it’s stable.

So the idea is that I will configure a wiki template, MYSQL, and some PHP code that allows anyone to edit the park descriptions. It’ll be on the honor system, like Wikipedia (built on the same software, by the way.) Who knows when it will be up, but it’s a fun project to tinker with.
